Hydra-Electric has continued to innovate and improve upon the negative rate disk spring concept and its overall pressure sensing designs, applying its products to hundreds of aircraft and missile systems.  Along the way, Hydra’s products have improved in aspects of accuracy and performance. 

A pressure switch must possess certain high characteristics of accuracy, repeatability and hysteresis.

Our products tend to be very accurate, reacting and signaling within the pressure levels and tolerances for the product design   Hydra-Electric’s switch pressure tolerance levels are very acceptable in aerospace circles and have been quite favorable for customers over the years.

Hydra’s pressure switches show good repeatability, which is basically the variation in measurements taken by a single switch.  After hundreds of thousands of cycles, Hydra-Electric pressure switches still operate within the tight band of performance criteria where they originally functioned.

Hysterisis can simply be defined as the switch’s ability to return to its initial state, after it has been actuated.  Hydra’s switches always return back to the “zero point”, even after hundreds of thousands of cycles
