ControlHydra-Electric must maintain tight control over its processes and procedures, in order to survive and thrive in the aerospace and military market. There are 3 main areas of control that Hydra must focus on :1. Overall Quality Control:Hydra-Electric has been servicing the aerospace industry for 60 years and has maintained the highest quality standards in the industry. 2. Process Control:Hydra-Electric manufacturing is more than 95% self-contained and is equipped with the latest CNC equipment to manufacture all the principal components in-house for the completed product. Having the vast majority of machine shop, assembly, and testing contained in-house allows Hydra to fully control processes and manufacturing steps throughout the entire work flow. Hydra only purchases a couple of electrical components for its pressure switches, and only farms out basic switch body parts for machining when we wish to achieve unplanned high volume throughput. 3. Procedure Control:Hydra achieves a high level of control over its everyday procedures through detailed Work Instructions. The Work Instructions are written separately and in detail for each department, including engineering, machining, assembly, quality inspection, and shipping. Having a long and detailed set of work instructions allows the knowledge of everyday procedures to be easily taught and duplicated for new employees. Having uniform work instructions keeps all basic work flow structured and homogenous. | ![]() |
