General Machinist

The General Machinist sets up and operates manual Lathe, Mill, Surface Grinding and Drilling machines. Works from sketches and blueprints and uses precision measuring equipment to check conformance work.  

Salary Range: $20-23/hr

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with material such as Stainless steel, Brass, Aluminum and tool steel
  • Sets and adjusts manual machines for proper operation  
  • Works with Assembly department to prioritize Cut-apart/repairs of production products
  • Performs daily computer transaction of completed jobs
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Education and Experience

  • HS diploma required
  • Minimum 5+ years’ progressive experience in Aerospace machining 
  • Friendly, enthusiastic and a good team player
  • Efficient, accurate, attentive to detail
  • Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
  • Must have knowledge of basic shop math
  • Must have experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
