Experienced supply chain executive to head operations at the aerospace manufacturer
Burbank, CA – November 17, 2015 — Hydra-Electric Company, a trusted provider of breakthrough sensing technology for the aerospace industry, announced the appointment of Len Torres as chief operations officer (COO). He will report directly to Hydra-Electric CEO, David Schmidt.

Len Torres has 25 years experience in aerospace, electronics, and commercial product lines. At Meggitt Control Systems he held several executive leadership positions, most recently as U.S. Group Materials Director, where he was responsible for a $100M procurement budget and led numerous supply chain optimization initiatives resulting in significant improvements in customer OTD, quality metrics, and other measures. He also served in leadership roles at TA MFG Co. (division of Esterline Technologies), Cast Alloys Inc., and Teradyne Inc.

Len holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and an MBA in Finance and Operations Management from the University of Southern California (USC).
